Open Loop systems use a source of fresh water (Sea/Lake/River) to flush ammonia (waste) from the system that can be deadly to the species being held. APS engineers are trained to calculate your freshwater requirement based on species, quantity being held, operation (Purging, Holding, Growing) and volume of water in tanks to calculate the exact need to maintain a 0 PPM ammonia concentration. Matching your new water needs with properly sized pumps, pipe, suction, discharge and drainage will ensure your power requirements are minimal while your water quality is maximum.

Closed Loop systems do not have a steady supply of fresh water (Sea/Lake/River) to flush ammonia (waste) from the system, which can be deadly to the species being held. APS engineers are trained to calculate your freshwater requirement based on species, quantity being held, operation (Purging, Holding, Growing) and volume of water in tanks to calculate the exact need to maintain a 0 PPM ammonia concentration. APS Engineers will calculate the amount of ammonia discharged from your product based on operation and establish a biofiltration system to meet your business needs.
